Minister Ersoy engages in intensive diplomacy at NATO Summit

Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy engaged in significant diplomatic activity at Esenboğa Airport, welcoming several high-profile leaders arriving in Ankara for the 36th NATO Summit. Hosted by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the summit brings together heads of state and government from across the alliance.

Minister Ersoy personally greeted North Macedonia's President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as they arrived in Turkey for the crucial meeting. Ersoy shared his reception of the leaders on his social media, emphasizing the importance of their visit for the summit hosted by President Erdoğan.

We welcomed the President of North Macedonia, Ms. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, the Prime Minister of Estonia, Mr. Kristen Michal, and the President of the European Commission, Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, to our country within the scope of the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit, hosted by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Reflecting on the summit's objectives, Minister Ersoy stated his hope that the event would further bolster cooperation and the shared understanding of security among NATO allies. The summit agenda includes discussions on increasing defense investments, evaluating the alliance's deterrence and defense capabilities, and addressing threats and challenges within the Euro-Atlantic region. Leaders are also expected to exchange views on the current situation in Ukraine and developments in NATO's southern flank.
