Minister of Education again refused to meet with delegation from Jovina Gymnasium parents, students, and professors

A delegation of parents, students, and professors from Jovina Gymnasium once again sought a meeting with the Minister of Education, Dejan Vuk Stanković, on Monday, June 15. Their attempt to speak with the minister, similar to a previous attempt on Friday, proved unsuccessful.

The primary demand of the parents is the dismissal of Radivoje P. Stojković, the current director of the "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" Gymnasium. According to one parent, even the minister's associates refused to meet with the delegation. The group submitted a letter from the gymnasium's students and their personal accounts to the Ministry.

Parents and professors have vowed to continue protesting outside the Ministry of Education until the issue with Director Stojković is resolved. They insist on his removal and the appointment of an acting director who will prevent further deterioration of the gymnasium. Minister Stanković, however, stated that the competition for the director position will take place in July and that the current director's term ends in November, asserting there is no need for haste and that matters are moving toward normalization.
