Miraflores Resident Makes Serious Complaint: ‘I Haven’t Been Able to Work for Months. I’m Tired and Desperate’

Maricruz Arribas says she has been unable to work for months because of a dispute with Tale, the construction company developing a project next to her more than 100-year-old home in Miraflores.

Arribas fears vibrations from the construction could damage the structure. She also says some artworks at the property and part of her workshop have already been affected. The adjoining project is reportedly expected to include 126 apartments.

She said company representatives have challenged her ownership of a wall inside her home for seven months, but have not shown documents proving that the space belongs to them. Arribas said she initially allowed the company’s engineers to inspect the interior of the property. After talks failed to produce an agreement, she assigned communications to her lawyer.
