Misiorowski shines as Brewers top Dodgers 4-1

Jacob Misiorowski delivered a stellar performance on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing just one run on five hits to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Brewers, division leaders, extended their success against the Dodgers, another division leader, thanks to crucial home runs from Joey Ortiz and William Contreras.

Misiorowski, now with a 12-5 record, showcased his power by throwing his first six pitches to Shohei Ohtani above 102 mph. He also managed to strike out Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the fifth inning, successfully escaping a bases-loaded situation. The Dodgers' pitcher, Justin Wrobleski (11-5), took the loss after giving up four runs on four hits and a walk in six innings.

The Brewers took an early lead in the second inning when Joey Ortiz hit a 373-foot home run to left field. This was capitalized on after William Contreras singled with two outs to extend the inning. Ortiz has now driven in a run in three consecutive games and is hitting .375 during a four-game hitting streak.

Aaron Ashby secured his first save of the season by striking out Alex Call in the ninth inning after allowing two runners to reach base. Gary Sánchez was replaced by a pinch-runner in the sixth inning after being hit by a pitch.
