Miss Guatemala Contest 2026: candidates, gala date, and the six crowns they will seek to win

Guatemala is gearing up for the Miss Guatemala Contest 2026, an event designed to select the nation's representatives for a suite of prestigious international beauty pageants. This year, 20 contestants will vie for one of six coveted titles, including Miss World, Miss Cosmo, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss International, Miss Supranational, and Miss Grand International.

The highly anticipated final gala is set to take place on June 14. During the event, candidates will be evaluated on their public speaking skills, runway presence, elegance, and overall beauty. The contest aims to provide a significant platform for Guatemalan women on the international stage.

José Martínez, vice president of the Miss Guatemala Contest, emphasized that the organization seeks more than just physical attractiveness. "We are looking to build integral profiles," he stated. "It's not just about beauty, but about finding women who possess the necessary qualities to adequately represent the country in international arenas."

Candidates are expected to demonstrate discipline, social commitment, academic achievement, strong values, and a proven track record. These attributes, combined with the required physical beauty, are seen as crucial for success in the demanding international pageant circuit. The organizers are also considering adding new international titles to their franchise, depending on the performance and dedication of the participants.

The final gala will be held at the Expo Center of the Hotel Tikal Futura. The event will feature special guests Catalina Duque, Miss International 2025, and Emma Tiglao, Miss Grand International 2025, who will also serve on the judging panel. The gala will be broadcast live on Guatevisión.
