Miss World Nigeria wins Africa's Top Model title, advances to Top 40

Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Nigeria at the Miss World 2026 pageant in Vietnam, has achieved a significant milestone by winning the Top Model for Africa title.

Her victory at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed "Soul of Heritage," automatically secured her a coveted place in the Top 40 quarterfinals of the Miss World competition. Karibi-George triumphed over representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya, and South Africa in the continental Top Model segment.

This achievement marks a significant step in her pageant journey. Karibi-George, who previously reached the African finalists in the Head-to-Head Challenge, now joins other continental Top Model winners from the Americas & Caribbean (Dominican Republic), Europe (France), and Asia & Oceania (Vietnam). The competition is far from over, as one of these four continental winners will be crowned the overall Top Model winner, earning a direct entry into the Top 20.

Karibi-George, a 26-year-old communications professional from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, brings a wealth of experience to the competition. She is an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and founded "Beyond Labels," an initiative dedicated to inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs. Prior to her Miss World Nigeria 2026 title, she also won Miss Africa International 2024 in Accra, Ghana. She succeeded Joy Mojisola Raimi, who represented Nigeria at the previous Miss World pageant and reached the Top 20.
