Mitchell Elegbe rejoins global jury for 2026 Awards

Mitchell Elegbe, the Founder and Group Managing Director/CEO of Interswitch Group, has once again been selected as the sole entrepreneur from Africa to serve on the global jury for the 2026 Ernst & Young (EY) World Entrepreneur of The Year Awards. This prestigious event takes place annually in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Elegbe's re-appointment for the third consecutive year follows his initial jury duties at the 2024 awards. According to EY, the World Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame comprises an elite group of individuals recognized for their exceptional entrepreneurial accomplishments. For four decades, since 1986, EY has honored ingenuity through its Entrepreneur of the Year program.

The program has celebrated over 10,000 outstanding entrepreneurs for their vision, innovation, courage, and leadership in establishing and expanding successful businesses. These enterprises significantly influence daily life, the products and services people rely on, and the economic vitality of local communities and global markets.

In June 2023, Elegbe, alongside 48 other accomplished entrepreneurs from 45 countries, was inducted into the 2023 WEOY Hall of Fame. He holds the unique distinction of being the only black and African global finalist in that cohort.
