Mitsubishi Updates eK X: Refined Exterior and Enhanced Safety Tech

Mitsubishi has introduced a refreshed model of its eK X in Japan, a light car known for its distinctive styling reminiscent of a scaled-down Delica D:5.

The latest iteration boasts subtle yet impactful exterior modifications. The front and rear bumpers, along with the tailgate garnish, now feature body-colored designs, aiming to create a more premium and cohesive visual appeal. Complementing these changes, the eK X offers a choice of ten color options, comprising five solid colors and five two-tone combinations, catering to diverse customer preferences in the entry-level segment.

Significant upgrades have also been made to the vehicle's interior and safety technology. A new rear-seat reminder system has been implemented to help prevent accidental leaving behind of children or belongings. For enhanced convenience, the interior charging port has been updated to the USB Type-C standard. Furthermore, Mitsubishi has improved the forward-facing camera's field of vision, which directly benefits the FCM (Forward Collision Mitigation) active safety system, enabling it to detect potential hazards more effectively and react quicker in emergency situations.

Under the hood, the updated eK X continues to offer two powertrain options: a naturally aspirated 0.66-liter engine producing 52 horsepower and a turbocharged version delivering 64 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and are available in either front-wheel-drive (2WD) or four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations, promising a smooth and adaptable driving experience.
