MLB All-Star Game 2026: Meet the selections for the Major League All-Star Game

Baseball's biggest stars have been revealed for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, with Japanese phenomenon Shohei Ohtani topping the fan vote. Ohtani, a 31-year-old star for the Los Angeles Dodgers, earned his sixth consecutive All-Star nod. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts expressed his admiration, stating, "Every day I am surprised by Shohei. It's like seeing two people; when he pitches, we see an intense guy, while when he bats, we see him relaxed. It's wonderful, and we are lucky to see him play."

Despite a stellar pitching season with an 8-2 record and a 1.79 ERA in 14 games, Ohtani was selected as a designated hitter for the National League. The Dominican player Juan Soto is the only Latino named to the National League's starting lineup. Soto, playing for a struggling Mets team, is having a standout individual season with 18 home runs, 41 RBIs, and a .297 batting average.

In the American League, the Cuban Yordan Alvarez, along with Dominicans Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, secured starting positions. Alvarez, 31, is the Astros' offensive cornerstone with 28 home runs and 63 RBIs. Former player and analyst Alex Rodriguez called him "the complete package," comparing him to David Ortiz and noting his pursuit of a Triple Crown.

Among the pitchers, Cuban Raisel Iglesias (Atlanta) and Venezuelan Eduardo Rodríguez (Arizona) will make their first All-Star appearances in the National League. In the American League, Cuban Aroldis Chapman (Boston) will participate in his ninth All-Star Game at age 38. The 96th MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.
