Mlinar Invests 12 Million Euros in Osijek Burek Factory Expansion

Mlinar, a prominent bakery group in the Adria region and part of BOSQAR INVEST, is injecting 12 million euros into its Osijek, Croatia, factory to significantly increase burek production. This substantial investment aims to meet the continuously strong demand for burek in its operating markets and enhance export capabilities.

The project centers on acquiring a new, fully automated production line. This single line will possess a capacity equivalent to the factory's current four lines combined. Upon completion, Mlinar expects to double the Osijek plant's output, improving production efficiency and supply flexibility. The expansion is designed to support further growth in existing and new markets, particularly strengthening international sales beyond the immediate region.

As the leading burek producer in the region, Mlinar views this expansion as a strategic move to bolster its manufacturing base. The company also anticipates a positive impact on employment in Osijek, continuing its development of the production site. Since the 2021/2022 period, Mlinar has already created over 230 new jobs at the Osijek facility.

He emphasized the investment's commitment to domestic production and strengthening Mlinar's Croatian manufacturing capabilities.

Mlinar Group operates across Croatia, Slovenia, and Serbia, with over 327 retail locations and five production facilities employing more than 2,980 people. In 2025, the group sold 216 million products, generating over 197.2 million euros in revenue. Mlinar exports to over 17 markets and sources 96 percent of its raw materials, materials, and services from domestic suppliers.
