Mobile Mammography Unit to Launch in Novi Bečej on August 31

Novi Bečej municipality will soon have improved access to breast cancer screening with the launch of a mobile mammography unit. The Institute of Public Health of Serbia 'Dr Milan Jovanović Batut' announced that the unit will commence operations on August 31.

The mobile unit aims to provide organized screening services to women within specific age and risk categories. This includes women aged 45 to 69 who have not undergone a mammogram in the past two years. Additionally, women over 40 with a close family history of breast cancer are eligible for screening.

Operating daily, including weekends, the unit will be available from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Women interested in scheduling an examination can call 060 080 94 01 during weekdays between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Batut's website emphasizes that mammography is considered the gold standard for early breast cancer detection. Early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment and recovery, highlighting the importance of accessible screening programs like this mobile unit.
