Model Adriana Barrientos suffers violent carjacking in Las Condes

Model and television panelist Adriana Barrientos experienced a violent carjacking on Sunday in the upscale Barrio El Golf area of Santiago's Las Condes commune. A group of criminals stole her Porsche after a physical confrontation as she was leaving her building.

It's the third time I've been robbed at the door of my house. It's the second time they've taken a car. The last time they did a portonazo, they came with a machine gun (...) and that time I managed to escape, I ducked my head and was able to enter the building.

Barrientos was exiting her building with her car windows down when armed assailants approached her. Despite her attempts to resist the robbery, the thieves managed to take the vehicle and fled. The incident left Barrientos with a shoulder injury and bruises, requiring her transport to a medical facility.

This is not the first time Barrientos has been targeted. She recounted to Cooperativa that this is the third time she has been robbed at her home and the second time a car has been stolen. "The last time they did a portonazo, they came with a machine gun... and that time I managed to escape, I ducked my head and was able to enter the building," she said.

This time it wasn't the same, (because) I was leaving with both windows down and they grabbed me.

She added that this time was different because she was leaving with the windows down. Barrientos revealed she tried to disarm one of the attackers, but it turned out to be a plastic gun. The stolen vehicle, a 2018 silver Porsche, is now being sought by the investigative robbery brigade of the PDI.
