Model Lin Yu-li postpones second child plans due to childcare struggles

Taiwanese model Lin Yu-li, 39, recently shared her experience as a new mother, revealing that her initial desire to have a second child has been put on hold due to overwhelming circumstances. After welcoming her daughter in February, Lin was immersed in the joys of motherhood, describing her baby as an "angel" who sleeps well and greets people with a smile.

Her maternal bliss was so profound that she contemplated having another child by the end of the year. However, the reality of childcare proved challenging. After her 24-hour nanny left and her mother experienced stress-related hives from helping out, Lin found herself juggling work and childcare. "I could only hold the baby while attending meetings, handling company affairs in the short time she slept, and I barely got any sleep," Lin recounted. This intense period prompted her to quickly get a subdermal contraceptive implant, indefinitely pausing her second-child plans.

Lin's business partner, Lin Ko-tung, who co-founded their skincare brand HYPHY, also spoke about the demands of motherhood. Currently managing her two sons during their summer vacation in Taiwan, Lin Ko-tung described being exhausted from constantly tending to them. She humorously mentioned calling her children to check their underarm odor, earning her the nickname "armpit goddess."

During an event celebrating their brand's ninth anniversary, Lin Ko-tung became emotional reflecting on her nearly nine years of partnership with Lin Yu-li. She praised their complementary personalities, which allow them to support each other's strengths and weaknesses. "I really can't do that even with my husband," Lin Ko-tung joked, suggesting they should have a "multi-generational family" together.

The event also delved into the brand's philosophy, incorporating Ayurvedic body type analysis. Lin Ko-tung, identified as "wind type," is characterized by constant thought and action, numerous ideas, and adaptability, though she can be scattered. Lin Yu-li, conversely, is a "fire-earth type," described as more stable in personality and physique, with a slower metabolism. The brand's products, such as the "Swollen Body Dehumidifier" herbal soothing balm and "Liquid Corset" body oil, were noted as being particularly suited to Lin Yu-li's type.
