Moffi gets more interest ahead Nice exit

Nigerian striker Terem Moffi faces an uncertain future as French club ES Troyes AC and Serbian powerhouse FK Partizan express interest in acquiring him during the upcoming summer transfer window. Moffi is currently with the Super Eagles at the Unity Cup in London.

His recent loan spell at FC Porto concluded with a Portuguese league title, but the club has opted not to exercise their €8 million option to sign him permanently. This decision has placed the Super Eagles forward back on the transfer market. A return to his parent club, OGC Nice, also appears improbable. Moffi had previously refused to play for Nice following alleged abuse from supporters last year, leading to his loan move.

Nice originally signed Moffi from FC Lorient for a reported €22.5 million. During his loan at Porto, he made 15 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Despite this, Porto's decision not to pursue a permanent transfer leaves Moffi's next destination open.

Beyond Troyes and Partizan, several other clubs are reportedly monitoring Moffi's situation. West Ham United F.C. has a long-standing interest, having previously bid £25 million in January 2023. Aston Villa F.C. also held discussions with his representatives around that time. Italian club S.S. Lazio is keeping tabs on him as they seek additional attacking options. French clubs Olympique de Marseille and Paris FC, along with Turkish giants Fenerbahçe S.K., are also said to be interested.

Moffi has a proven track record in Ligue 1, scoring 54 league goals and providing 11 assists in 148 appearances for Lorient and Nice. His performances for Lorient, where he scored 14 goals to help them avoid relegation, and his subsequent move to Nice for a reported club-record package of around €30 million, underscore his potential. He adapted quickly at Nice, scoring nine goals in his first 20 matches and finishing the 2023/24 campaign as the club's top scorer with 11 goals.
