Monacelli wins bowling gold at Central American Games

Venezuelan athlete Rodolfo Monacelli claimed the men's bowling gold medal at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. Monacelli dominated the competition, accumulating the most pins across all categories with a total of 5,627 pins, averaging an impressive 234.5 per game.

He narrowly defeated Mexico's Héctor Piña, who took silver with 5,624 pins and an average of 234.3. Monacelli also secured a silver medal for Venezuela in the individual bowling modality, registering 1,418 pins with an average of 236.3. Jean Francisco Pérez of Puerto Rico earned the bronze in this event.

The Venezuelan women's team also achieved success, securing a bronze medal with a combined total of 3,080 pins. Alicia Marcano led the team with the highest individual average of 219.3, followed by her younger sister Karen with 214.3. Colombia dominated the women's team event with 3,395 pins, followed by Mexico in second place with 3,098 pins.
