Monterrey Fan Fest postpones concerts due to rain; World Cup broadcasts continue

The FIFA Fan Festival in Monterrey has been forced to reschedule its weekend concerts due to damage sustained by the main stage and the forecast of continued rain. Organizers confirmed that the live music performances planned for this weekend will be moved to new dates.

El Gran Silencio, originally scheduled to perform on Saturday, will now take the stage on July 2. La Costumbre, whose Friday performance was canceled due to adverse weather conditions, is set to perform on July 7. Despite these changes to the musical lineup, the festival grounds will still open at 5:00 PM.

Fans can still enjoy the World Cup matches as planned. The game between Ecuador and Curazao will be broadcast at 6:00 PM in the Food & Soul area, followed by the match between Tunisia and Japan at 10:00 PM. This rescheduling follows a day of heavy rains and strong winds that caused damage to various facilities and led to the cancellation of mass activities in the Parque Fundidora area. Civil Protection in Nuevo León has issued a preventive alert for wind, with gusts up to 50 kilometers per hour expected in the metropolitan area, urging the public to exercise caution.
