Femi Brown, husband of media personality Morayo Afolabi Brown, has shared an intimate detail from their past: a private request from his mother-in-law for him and Morayo to abstain from sex before their marriage.

Brown recounted that Morayo's mother approached him privately, pleading with him not to have premarital relations with her daughter. He explained that this request influenced his decision to abstain, viewing it as a way to honor God and an act of obedience. "I'm not trying to protect her, but I'm just trying to honor God that if you are able to do that, when you get married, there are certain demands to be able to place on God because you have obeyed that rule not to premarital sex that a lot of people who didn’t wouldn’t be able to make," Brown said.

He admitted that while he had prior sexual experience, he decided to "take a chance" and remain sexually abstinent until marriage. "So I just decided to hold on and I held on, and we did not have sex till we got married," he stated. The couple, who celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in February, married on January 19, 2011.

So it was on that baseline I just decided that, okay, if truly God is going to do something because we did not have sex before marriage, well, let me just take a chance. Not as if I’ve never had sex before, it’s not such a big deal.

Brown highlighted the subsequent blessings of their marriage, noting that they welcomed their fourth child by January 18, 2012, less than a year after their wedding.
