More voters identify as Democrats and avoid calling themselves Republicans

More voters are identifying with the Democratic Party and shying away from calling themselves Republican, according to Gallup’s latest quarterly data.

Forty-nine percent of surveyed voters leaned Democratic, including independents asked to choose one party or the other. Thirty-nine percent leaned Republican.

The figures mark a sharp reversal from 2024, according to the report.
