Moroccan Gendarmerie Rescues Captive Woman, Subdues Violent Suspect

Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie officers successfully rescued a young woman who was being held captive in a residence in the El Othmania douar, near the commune of Moulay Abdellah in the El Jadida province. The operation, which took place early Saturday morning, also led to the arrest of the suspect after he violently resisted.

According to security sources, the Gendarmerie received a tip about the woman's detention. Upon locating her and the suspect, a tactical operation was launched. The rescued woman was found to be in good health. The suspect, however, put up a fierce struggle when officers attempted to apprehend him. He reportedly threatened the gendarmes with a bladed weapon and a gas canister, posing a direct danger to their safety.

To neutralize the threat and gain control, the Gendarmerie officers deployed a Taser multiple times. The suspect was subsequently arrested and placed under judicial custody. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the public prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in El Jadida to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
