Moroccan PM Akhannouch: Citizens want action, not just words

Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch asserted that citizens desire concrete actions and results, not just speeches or slogans. Speaking in Laayoune, Akhannouch reviewed the government's achievements and presented his party's platform for the upcoming 2026-2031 term, underscoring the necessity of continuing reforms and maintaining close contact with the populace.

During a consultative meeting organized by his party, the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Akhannouch urged party members to enhance their field presence and direct communication with citizens. He stated that the public closely follows the kingdom's reforms and development projects, and political evaluation is increasingly tied to tangible outcomes on the ground. "Moroccans want you to work and move forward," he told party members, linking the RNI's credibility to its "culture of 'reasonableness' and seriousness."

Akhannouch acknowledged the challenges faced during the government's term, including national and international crises, but highlighted the implementation of structural reforms and development initiatives. He pointed to advancements in vital sectors such as health and education, alongside measures to stimulate investment and economic activity. He also noted the significant development dynamic in the southern provinces, specifically the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, and Guelmim-Oued Noun regions.

Looking ahead, the RNI's program, themed 'Dignity and Opportunities for All,' aims to continue reforms, strengthen the social state, support purchasing power, and create new job opportunities. Akhannouch reiterated his support for the party's candidates in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region, urging continued mobilization, field work, and direct engagement to address the needs of Moroccans across the country.
