Moroccan striker Bentayeb signs four-year deal with Anderlecht

Moroccan international Tawfiq Bentayeb has officially signed a four-season deal with Belgian club Anderlecht, marking a new chapter in his professional career after a standout season with French side Troyes.

Anderlecht announced the signing of the Moroccan forward on Friday, securing his services after he impressed with his attacking prowess and potential to contribute significantly to the team. The Belgian club's management was convinced by his capabilities, leading to the agreement.

Bentayeb's move to Anderlecht was anticipated, with "Hesport" previously reporting that negotiations were progressing well. He reportedly chose Anderlecht's sporting project from a range of offers received during the summer transfer window. Bentayeb had an exceptional season with Troyes, directly contributing to their promotion to the first division by scoring 18 goals in 28 matches, earning him the top scorer title in the French second division. This followed his initial move outside Morocco to French club Rodez in the summer of 2024, and then a loan spell at Troyes last season, which attracted the attention of several clubs and established him as one of Morocco's rising young forwards in Europe.

Anderlecht is banking on the qualities of the Moroccan striker, who describes himself as a decisive player with direct and fast play towards the opponent's goal. He can play as a center forward and also in other attacking positions.
