Moroccan Students Shine at International Mathematics Competition in Mongolia

Morocco made a significant debut at the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) 2026 in Mongolia, securing advanced results and showcasing the talent of its young mathematicians. The Moroccan delegation participated under the supervision of the Moroccan Association of Mathematical Sciences.

The Moroccan team competed in two categories, "Key Stage 2" and "Key Stage 3." Participants tackled various tests in English, adhering to strict Olympic standards. The competition included both individual and team events, featuring strong contenders from nations with extensive experience in the field, such as China, the United States, Vietnam, Bulgaria, and South Korea.

In the "Key Stage 2" team competition, the Moroccan team, comprised of Leila Fassi Fehri, Iman Mezah, and Anas Alilou, earned a bronze medal with a total of 157 points. Individually, student Yasmin Adamia clinched a silver medal, securing second place. Iman Mezah and Anas Alilou also received honorable mentions, underscoring the high level of Moroccan students in international scientific contests.

These accomplishments reflect the increasing standard of Moroccan students in global academic competitions. The success at the IMC in Mongolia serves as a testament to their dedication and the quality of mathematical education and training they receive.
