Morocco Exempts Albanian Citizens from Visa Requirements for Short Stays

The Kingdom of Morocco has officially exempted citizens of the Republic of Albania from visa requirements for short-term stays, a decision that took effect on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The announcement was made by the Albanian Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs through its official website.

According to a statement from the Albanian ministry, the Moroccan Embassy in Albania, based in Rome, informed the ministry of the decision. Moroccan authorities have granted this exemption for Albanian nationals traveling to Morocco for brief visits, underscoring a move towards facilitating travel between the two nations.

The Moroccan Embassy accredited to the Republic of Albania, residing in Rome, informed the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania that the competent Moroccan authorities have decided to exempt citizens of the Republic of Albania traveling to the Kingdom of Morocco for short-term stays from the visa requirement.

This diplomatic step is a direct result of a joint commitment formalized in a declaration signed on March 1, 2025. The declaration was between the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, and his Albanian counterpart, Igli Hasani, who was then serving as the Albanian Minister of European and Foreign Affairs. This agreement signifies a strengthening of bilateral relations and aims to boost tourism and cultural exchange.
