Morocco weather forecast: Heat and thunderstorms expected Sunday

Morocco is bracing for a hot and potentially stormy Sunday, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. The southern and eastern parts of the country, including desert regions and the Moulouya plains, are expected to experience relatively hot to locally hot conditions.

Residents in the Atlas Mountains and their eastern foothills should prepare for thunderstorms, which may include hail. Scattered showers are also possible in the eastern regions, southeastern areas, and the far south. Low-lying clouds and localized fog are anticipated during the early morning and night over the Atlantic plains and Mediterranean coasts.

Strong wind gusts are forecast for the Atlas Mountains, central coasts, eastern region, and desert territories, with a possibility of dust being stirred up in some areas. Temperatures are expected to range from 27-32 degrees Celsius in the southeast and far south, and 14-20 degrees Celsius in the Atlas Mountains and near the Atlantic coast. Other parts of the kingdom will see temperatures between 21-26 degrees Celsius.
