Morocco weather forecast: Hot to very hot conditions expected Saturday

Morocco is bracing for hot to locally very hot weather conditions on Saturday, July 18, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology. The heat is expected to be particularly intense in the eastern regions, the Moulouya Valley, Saïss, plains west of the Atlas, the Souss region, Chichaoua, and the southeastern interior, as well as the southern provinces.

Residents along the Atlantic coast can anticipate low-lying clouds forming during the early morning and nighttime hours. These clouds may bring patchy fog or very light, localized rain. Additionally, slightly unstable clouds are expected over the Greater and Middle Atlas mountains and their western slopes.

Gusts of moderate to strong winds are forecast for the Atlas regions, eastern Morocco, the central plains and coasts, and the southern provinces. These winds may carry scattered dust in some areas. Temperatures will vary significantly across the country, with lows ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in hotter regions like the eastern areas, Souss, and desert interiors, and between 12 to 18 degrees Celsius in the Atlas Mountains. Other parts of the country will experience lows between 19 and 24 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.
