Moscow Reports Downing Over 400 Drones in Overnight Attack; Six Injured

Moscow's air defenses engaged over 400 drones launched towards the capital region overnight, according to Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. He stated on Telegram that the majority of the unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralized far from the city, with 85 destroyed as they approached Moscow.

Six individuals sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe, from an explosion and were transported to a hospital in Domodedovo, a southern Moscow suburb. The Domodedovo hospital provided this information on Telegram, without specifying if the injuries were directly linked to the drone attack. The city is home to one of Moscow's international airports.

These aerial assaults coincide with Ukraine reporting substantial Russian missile attacks on Kyiv over the weekend. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the strikes on the capital as among the most significant ballistic missile attacks, resulting in at least one death and 16 injuries.

In recent months, Ukraine has escalated its attacks within Russia, reportedly targeting hydrocarbon infrastructure to impede Moscow's war funding capabilities. The drone activity near Moscow represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
