Moscow restaurant bombing kills three people as device carried by woman explodes

An explosion in central Moscow on Saturday evening killed three people and injured at least 21 when a homemade bomb detonated near a restaurant. The blast occurred just before 8 p.m. close to an Italian establishment in Kudrinskaya Square, an area known for its Stalin-era skyscrapers.

According to Russia's anti-terrorism committee, an unidentified woman attempted to enter the restaurant but was intercepted by a security guard. The resulting explosion killed the woman, the security guard, and a customer at the Balzi Rossi Italian restaurant, authorities reported.
