Football club Hajduk Split secured a 2-0 victory against Cyprus's Pafos in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round match. The win, achieved at their home ground, Poljud stadium, was sealed by goals from Michele Šego and Dario Melnjak. The result sets Hajduk up favorably for the return leg, with fans hopeful they will confirm their passage to the third qualifying round.

Following the match, a particularly emotional scene unfolded as the Hajduk players went to acknowledge the fans who remained. The Torcida, Hajduk's supporters' group, led chants of "Niko kao Hajduk iz Splita" (No one like Hajduk from Split). This was soon followed by a stadium-wide chant of "Ja te volim Hajduče" (I love you Hajduk), which resonated through the stands.

Even after the majority of the more than 27,000 spectators had begun to leave, a core group of fans stayed behind. As the stadium emptied, the first notes of the song "Kada umrem umotan u bilo" (When I die, wrapped in white) were heard. Those remaining on the terraces sang the song with full voice, their powerful rendition echoing through the partially empty Poljud, reawakening the stadium's spirit.

The return match between Hajduk and Pafos is scheduled for Thursday, July 30, in Cyprus. Hajduk will be looking to build on their home advantage and secure their place in the next round of the competition.
