Mother Arrested for Setting Home Ablaze With Toddler Inside After Argument

A 30-year-old woman is in police custody after allegedly setting fire to her own home in Yongin, South Korea, with her two-year-old son present. The suspect, identified only as Ms. A, is accused of arson.

Authorities report that the fire started in a bedroom of the residence on Tuesday morning. The alleged motive appears to stem from a heated argument with her husband. Ms. A reportedly could not control her anger and proceeded to start the blaze.

The two-year-old child, identified as Mr. B, was taken to a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation. While the child's condition is not life-threatening, the incident has raised concerns about domestic disputes escalating to dangerous levels. The fire was extinguished by apartment management staff within approximately 10 minutes.

Ms. A has been placed on emergency hospitalization, and police are continuing their investigation into the precise circumstances surrounding the incident.
