Mother dies from injuries sustained in Mendoza road crash that killed her two daughters

Ariadna Tillar, 54, the mother of two young sisters who tragically died in a road accident in Mendoza, Argentina, has also succumbed to her injuries. Her death brings the total fatalities from the horrific crash to four.

Mrs. Tillar had been hospitalized in intensive care at Hospital Perrupato since the weekend with severe injuries, including a fractured tibia and fibula, and a fractured lower jaw. Her daughters, Rosario, 19, and Juana Masó Tillar, 21, had previously been reported dead following the incident. Juana passed away after surgery for her injuries, while Rosario was declared brain-dead.

The devastating head-on collision occurred on provincial route 60 in Fray Luis Beltrán. It involved a Volkswagen T-Cross, driven by Martín Omar Tillar, and a Peugeot 504 carrying Oscar “Chacha” Fernández Mercau, a local amateur football referee. Mercau also died as a result of the crash.

Martín Tillar remains in serious condition with multiple injuries at Hospital Lagomaggiore. His partner, Florencia Bettalemmi, is in intensive care at Hospital El Carmen with a severe head injury. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, with authorities examining the scene and the vehicles involved.
