Mother of Five and 61-Year-Old Saleswoman Shine at Taiwan's 'Summer Body' Finals

A "Summer Body" competition in Taiwan celebrated fitness and transformation, culminating in a finals event that showcased impressive physiques and inspiring personal journeys. The event, organized by World Gym, drew over 200 applicants, with 61 finalists competing for top honors.

Among the standout participants was a mother of five, Xu Shuru, who secured the runner-up position in the general women's category. Having trained for five years and dedicating at least four days a week to fitness, she was inspired by fitness influencer Piggy Huang Mu-yen to achieve a sunny and energetic physique. Her dedication paid off, earning her recognition among the competitors.

Another notable contestant was Huang Yihua, a 61-year-old export saleswoman. Despite a demanding international work schedule and significant time differences, she embraced fitness over a year ago. Through disciplined diet and smart training, she lost 15 kilograms and reduced her body fat by 15%, ultimately winning third place in the bikini competition. Her husband has also adopted a healthier lifestyle, influenced by her transformation.

Celebrity judges, including cheerleading stars Park Sun-joo and Ying Le, lauded the contestants' muscular definition and strong psychological fortitude. They described the participants' level as "Pro-level," emphasizing their confidence and courage. The judges also shared their own fitness routines, highlighting the importance of diet control, swimming, dancing, and gym workouts for maintaining physical condition and stamina.
