MotoGP: Marquez Wins in Brno; Disqualified Bezzecchi Apologizes

Marc Marquez on a factory Ducati claimed a commanding victory at the Czech Republic Grand Prix. The reigning world champion triumphed at the Brno circuit, ahead of Ai Ogura on an Aprilia Trackhouse and his Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who finished third. Fabio Di Giannantonio's VR46 Ducati took fourth place.

Jorge Martin, on the official Aprilia, finished ninth after incurring a double long lap penalty for an incident at the start in Hungary. The biggest drama, however, involved championship leader Marco Bezzecchi. He was disqualified from the race for pushing and hitting a track marshal following a crash during the sprint race.

Bezzecchi later posted an apology on Instagram, expressing remorse for his actions towards the marshal. "I would like to extend my apologies to the entire MotoGP community for the gesture I made towards the marshal (a track official) at the side of the track," he wrote. "I am sorry, especially because I know how much effort and sacrifice the marshals make to ensure our safety. These behaviors must not happen and have no justification. I apologize to everyone, Aprilia Racing, and my fans."

Aprilia Racing appealed the disqualification, but the decision was upheld. The appellate judges confirmed that while riders may experience frustration and strong emotions immediately after an incident, these circumstances do not justify physical aggression towards circuit personnel. The ruling emphasized that aggressive physical contact with track staff constitutes a serious violation of sportsmanship standards.
