Motorcycle robbers trigger shootout and chase in Lanús, Argentina

A brazen daylight robbery attempt in Lanús, Argentina, escalated into a chaotic shootout and pursuit after armed motorcyclists targeted a young man at a traffic light. The incident, captured on video by a bystander, shows the assailants brandishing a weapon at the victim's head as they attempted to steal his motorcycle.

The situation intensified when the robbers threatened a bus driver to prevent him from intervening. However, an armored vehicle unexpectedly rammed the assailants' motorcycle, igniting a fierce gun battle. The robbers, forced to abandon their initial attempt, fled the scene on their own vehicle, firing shots as they were pursued by the armored car.

Authorities are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery. This event follows a recent similar incident in Malvinas Argentinas, Buenos Aires province, where a police officer in civilian clothes fatally shot one of two motorcyclists attempting to steal his bike during a traffic stop. The second suspect in that case escaped.
