Mourinho's Real Madrid Presentation Could Wait Until July

Jose Mourinho's official unveiling as Real Madrid's new manager is reportedly set to be postponed until July. While Real Madrid and Benfica have reportedly finalized the transfer details, the formal announcement is pending.

The operation was initiated following the departure of Álvaro Arbeloa from the Madrid bench. Benfica confirmed that Real Madrid intended to pay the 15 million euro release clause for the Portuguese coach. Benfica has since hired Marco Silva as Mourinho's replacement for two seasons, and Mourinho himself posted a farewell on Instagram thanking Benfica's president, Rui Costa.

Despite the swiftness of the transfer, Real Madrid's official statement is delayed. Some Spanish media suggest the presentation could wait until July. Mourinho's second stint at the club follows his previous tenure from 2010 to 2013. His return was a central promise made by Florentino Pérez during his campaign for club presidency, with videos of Mourinho endorsing Pérez's project released during the election. A new video confirming the agreement was published after Pérez secured his re-election.
