Multiple Wildfires Rage Across Serbia; Key Areas Remain Uncontrolled

Serbia is battling numerous wildfires across the country, with emergency services engaged in a continuous struggle to contain the blazes. While some areas show signs of stabilization, others remain critical, posing ongoing challenges.

In the Deliblatska Peščara (Deliblato Sands), the fire remains active but is currently stable, with no new hotspots emerging. Firefighting teams are maintaining a 24-hour watch on the affected area. Similarly, the situation on Stolovi mountain has improved compared to previous days, but the fire has not yet been localized, according to MUP (Ministry of Interior) officials.

Meanwhile, a more concerning situation is unfolding in the village of Lukovo, near Vranje, where a wildfire continues to rage. The fire spread towards Barelić on the previous day, and also affected the area of Srednji Del. Officials confirmed that no residential buildings are currently under threat, but the fire's progression remains a concern.

Another fire in the village of Milivojce, which ignited earlier in the week, has reportedly been extinguished. The ongoing fires underscore the significant challenges faced by Serbian authorities in managing natural disasters, particularly during dry and hot weather conditions.
