Murder inquiry following death of Brazilian woman (33) in Limerick

A murder inquiry is underway in Limerick, Ireland, after the body of a 33-year-old Brazilian woman was discovered in an apartment complex. Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa was found deceased on the third floor of the Carlton House apartment block on Cecil Street.

Authorities believe the victim was stabbed to death. Gardai, the Irish police force, are pursuing a specific line of inquiry and are reportedly seeking to question a man in connection with the killing. The alarm was raised when Ms. Pereira Rosa failed to show up for work, prompting colleagues to contact the authorities.

Officers forced entry into an apartment at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday, where they discovered her body. The building was sealed off as officers conducted door-to-door inquiries and collected CCTV footage from the vicinity. A postmortem examination was carried out at University Hospital Limerick, but the results have not been released for operational reasons.

Ms. Pereira Rosa, originally from Sorocaba in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, received tributes online from friends. One friend shared a picture of them together, expressing sorrow and remembering her contagious joy and kindness. A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation, and an incident room has been established at Henry Street Garda station. Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
