Musandam Municipal Council discusses development of markets, roads, tourist facilities

The Municipal Council of Musandam Governorate convened for its sixth meeting of 2026, chaired by Sayyid Faisal bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. The council focused on several key development projects aimed at enhancing the region's infrastructure and economic potential.

Discussions centered on a proposal to revitalize the old market in Khasab, known as Al Hala market. Additionally, the council reviewed a project to develop the Wilayat of Bukha, aiming to elevate its status as an urban center. Another significant project discussed was the development of Al Mazari Area (the farms) in the Wilayat of Mad’ha. The council also considered a proposal to dualize the "Quroon Assayd-Khub Al Shamsi" carriageway in the Wilayat of Daba, addressing critical transportation needs.

Beyond infrastructure, the meeting tackled pressing local issues. Proposals were discussed to alleviate traffic jams caused by trucks in the Wilayat of Khasab. The council also examined a request to repair sun sheds on Qadi Beach, recognizing the importance of maintaining and improving tourist facilities to attract visitors.

Concluding the meeting, the Municipal Council emphasized the importance of diligently following up on public issues and responding to recommendations. This commitment aims to support sustainable development efforts and ensure the aspirations of the citizens are met, reflecting a proactive approach to governance and community well-being.
