Hanan Buhari, daughter of Nigeria's late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons of Africa. The award was presented at the Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit held in Marrakech, Morocco.

During the ceremony, Hanan Buhari dedicated the honor to her late father's memory. She spoke emotionally about his influence, stating that his guidance, discipline, and belief in her shaped her into the woman she is today. She highlighted the values of integrity, resilience, and selfless service that her father taught her, noting that his confidence empowered her to believe in herself.

Buhari pledged to uphold these values by working to empower women and contribute meaningfully to society. The summit's Project Director, Kingsley Amafibe, congratulated Hanan, describing her as a role model whose commitment to women's advancement inspires a new generation of African leaders. The event brought together political leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and diplomats from across Africa.
