Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the African Democratic Congress governorship candidate, has shared a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour, remembering her as a pillar of strength and his most dedicated supporter throughout his political endeavors.

To know my mother, Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour née Waboso, was to know dedication, faith, resilience and love. My mother was the epitome of love. Her love was intense and uniquely tailored to fit each of her children.

In a touching reflection shared on Instagram, Rhodes-Vivour described his mother as a woman of "unwavering faith, resilience and unconditional love." He noted that she possessed an "intense" love, uniquely tailored for each of her children. During his most uncertain and difficult moments, his mother "always knew how to encourage him," offering the "perfect words to lift his spirits" and the "perfect prayer to strengthen him."

Rhodes-Vivour recounted his mother's initial apprehension about his foray into politics due to its inherent risks. "My father taught me to be fearless. My mother taught me how to overcome fear," he stated. He witnessed her transition from worry and anxiety to becoming his "biggest supporter on the campaign trail," a testament to her love triumphing over her fears.

His mother also instilled in him the importance of expressing love through service and kindness. She taught him to focus on his own path, guided by God, rather than comparing himself to others. Rhodes-Vivour remembered her boundless capacity for empathy, often acting as an "agony aunt or sister" who would not only listen to troubles but also pray and offer guidance until the person overcame their struggles.
