Mỹ Tâm joins music show produced by Phương Mai

More than 1,400 people filled the auditorium at The Grand Ho Tram on September 5 for “The Sound of Dreams,” a concert organized by Phương Mai and headlined by Mỹ Tâm.

Mai, who spent years working as a bilingual master of ceremonies, has shifted over the past year into producing and directing cultural and entertainment programs. She said she and her team prepared the concert within a few weeks after the artists agreed to participate, maintaining strict standards for the stage effects, lighting and sound.

Mỹ Tâm closed the show with songs including “Don’t Ask Me Why,” “Promise from the Void,” “It’s Not Just You,” “Right Still Becomes Wrong,” “Foolish Love,” “Forget Me,” “Because I Love You Too Much,” “See the Light” and “I Wish.” She changed outfits several times, adopted different performance styles and brought her own dance troupe for the more energetic numbers.

The audience sang along and cheered when Mỹ Tâm went into the seating area to greet fans. Mai said the singer’s performance and the audience’s response left her deeply moved. “I was happy that Ms. Tâm thanked me directly on stage for that care,” Mai said, describing the moment as encouragement for future shows.

Đức Tuấn and Phạm Đình Thái Ngân also performed. Tuấn brought the image of a polished musical-theater gentleman, singing songs such as “First Love, Last Love,” “Jealousy,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” and “Sway.”
