Nabeul transport lines to be reinforced for summer season

Tunisia's Nabeul regional transport company (SRTGN) is set to enhance its services for the upcoming summer season, aiming to improve travel for residents and tourists heading to the region's popular coastal destinations. The company announced a significant reinforcement of both urban and regional transport lines.

Key improvements include increased service frequency on routes connecting Nabeul to Tunis and Hammamet South to Nabeul. According to SRTGN's operations director, Néjib Jlassi, some urban lines suspended during the school year will be reinstated. Frequency on certain routes could reach as high as one trip every 30 minutes, addressing anticipated demand.

Additionally, SRTGN is introducing special summer routes designed to connect inland areas with coastal beaches. These new services will link towns like Menzel Bouzelfa and Béni Khalled to Korba beach, and Grombalia to Hammamet beach. Connections will also be strengthened between Zaghouan governorate and the Nefzaoua beach area, making it easier for those living inland to access seaside resorts.

The company also revealed plans for a fleet renewal, with 84 new Chinese-made buses expected to arrive starting in 2027. Thirty of these will be "comfort" type buses, intended to improve passenger experience and expand regional network capacity. These measures are part of SRTGN's strategy to adapt its offerings to the increased mobility during the summer months in the Cap Bon peninsula.
