Nabil Maâloul Appointed Head Coach of CR Belouizdad

Algerian Ligue 1 club CR Belouizdad has officially appointed Tunisian coach Nabil Maâloul as their new head coach. The club announced the move on Thursday, with Maâloul signing a one-season contract that will see him lead the team for the 2026-2027 season.

The club cited Maâloul's extensive experience, spanning over 25 years with numerous clubs and national selections, as the primary reason for his appointment. CR Belouizdad highlighted his track record of winning titles and consistent participation in continental and international competitions. The club expressed strong confidence in his ability to guide the team toward achieving its objectives and contending for top positions in the upcoming season.

The choice fell on Nabil Maâloul given his rich experience on the sidelines, acquired over more than twenty-five years at the head of several clubs and national teams.

Maâloul, 63, joins CR Belouizdad after his collaboration with Kuwaiti club Al-Qadsia ended. He had been managing the Kuwaiti side since June 11, 2025, leading them to a third-place finish in the league last season. This was his third stint in Kuwait, where he also previously coached the national team and had a successful period with Kuwait SC, securing league, cup, and super cup titles.

This appointment also marks Maâloul's return to the Algerian league, having previously coached USM Alger during the 2024-2025 season. CR Belouizdad, which already features Tunisian forward Mohamed Ali Ben Hammouda, recently added another Tunisian player, midfielder Houssem Tka, further strengthening their ties with Tunisian talent.
