NAF Launches Aerial Surveillance to Rescue Oriire School Pupils, Teachers

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified efforts to secure the release of abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State by deploying aerial surveillance platforms. These missions are designed to enhance intelligence gathering, improve situational awareness, and strengthen the coordination of security efforts to ensure the victims' safe return. This development comes amid growing concern for the welfare of the abducted individuals and highlights the determination of security agencies and the Oyo State Government to achieve a prompt and safe rescue. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, stated that the service continues to provide aerial surveillance support for the ongoing rescue efforts. Governor Seyi Makinde disclosed that the NAF promptly deployed an aerial surveillance platform immediately after the abduction was reported, providing critical intelligence. He noted that intelligence from these missions assists security agencies in monitoring developments and coordinating efforts toward the victims' safe release. Governor Makinde appealed for patience and support from residents, assuring them that all necessary resources are being deployed. He commended the Chief of the Air Staff and the NAF for their swift response and sustained support, particularly as Oyo State's newly acquired aerial assets are still being assembled. The governor explained that the state acquired these platforms in consultation with the NAF to ensure access to maintenance support and expertise. Once fully operational, these assets are expected to significantly enhance security operations across Oyo State and neighboring regions.
