Nagarkoti leads, Acharya closes in

Bhuvan Nagarkoti maintained his lead after the second round of the Surya Nepal Premier Golf Championship, held at the par-72 Gokarna Golf Club.

Nagarkoti posted a 4-under 68 on Wednesday, bringing his 36-hole total to an impressive 13-under 131. He holds a two-stroke advantage over top amateur Sadbhav Acharya, who carded a 6-under 66 for a total of 11-under 133. Nagarkoti's round was bogey-free on the front nine, and despite a bogey on the 10th hole, he secured three more birdies on the back nine to extend his lead.

Acharya, meanwhile, is leading the amateur section by five strokes over Rahul Bishwakarma. He had a strong performance with birdies on four holes on both halves of the course, despite facing a couple of bogeys. Other notable performances include Subash Tamang and Sukra Bahadur Rai, who are tied for third place at 8-under 136.

The tournament, the eighth and final event of the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2025-26, has attracted a field of 68 golfers, including 46 professionals and 22 amateurs. It boasts a record cash purse of Rs1.8 million. The cut for the final two rounds fell at 6-over 150, with 18 professionals and seven amateurs advancing.
