Najat Aatabou to perform at Tunisia's Hammamet International Festival

Moroccan singer Najat Aatabou is set to perform at the 60th edition of the International Festival of Hammamet in Tunisia, a significant cultural event scheduled from July 11 to August 13. Aatabou's performance is slated for August 8 at the ancient theater of Hammamet, marking her as a prominent Moroccan artist in the festival's lineup, which carries the theme "A Memory That Lives" to commemorate six decades of the festival's history. This appearance underscores Aatabou's sustained presence in the music scene, solidifying her status as a leading female voice in Moroccan popular music. Her repertoire, which has resonated with various generations, blends traditional Moroccan folk music with authentic rhythms, appealing to a Maghrebi audience familiar with her performances. The festival will also feature a musical project titled "Aita Mon Amour" on July 30, a collaboration between Moroccan artist Widad Mjahed and Tunisian artist Khalil Epi, reinterpreting Moroccan 'Aita' music with a modern vision. The festival's program boasts 32 shows, including music, singing, theater, and contemporary dance, with artists from Tunisia, other Arab and African nations, and European countries. Notable international participants include Marcel Khalife and Melhem Zein from Lebanon, Faraj Suleiman from Palestine, Salif Keita from Mali, Mariza from Portugal, and Mario Biondi from Italy.
