Naqvi says governance reset comments were not aimed at any political party

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi sought to clarify his call for a reset of Pakistan’s governance system, saying the remarks were not aimed at any political party.

Naqvi also rejected the idea that a reset meant dismantling the system. “Reset does not mean breaking the system. Under no circumstances does it mean breaking the system. It means that whatever is wrong should be changed,” he said.

He argued that the country’s administrative system had lost its effectiveness and that its impact was no longer reaching the public. Naqvi called for the administrative reforms he had proposed to be carried out under the Constitution and through democratic means.
