Nasarawa APC gov aspirant accepts defeat, warns supporters against violence

Hassan Liman, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and an aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Nasarawa State, has formally accepted the outcome of the party's primary election. Despite not securing the nomination, Liman has called for calm and unity among party faithful, urging them to refrain from any actions that could disrupt the prevailing peace in the state.

Peace is the bedrock of everything in society.

During the primary, Liman garnered 863 votes. The election saw Senator Ahmed Wadada emerge as the flag bearer with a significant 195,285 votes, while former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu received 39,675 votes. Liman acknowledged Wadada as the duly elected candidate and emphasized the collective responsibility of party stakeholders to support him in the lead-up to the 2027 general election.

I therefore call on all Nasarawa State citizens, especially members of our great party, to be law-abiding and be peaceful in the way and manner they conduct themselves. There is no alternative to peace.

"Peace is the bedrock of everything in society," Liman stated during a press briefing in Lafia, the state capital. He advised those dissatisfied with the primary results to pursue redress through due process. Liman stressed the importance of aligning with the party's chosen candidate, attributing electoral success to divine will. He encouraged all APC members and Nasarawa State citizens to remain law-abiding and peaceful.

I urge our teeming supporters and the entire people of Nasarawa State that we should ensure that we follow due process and ensure that our flag bearer, Senator Ahmed Wadada, is duly elected as the next governor in 2027.

Liman reiterated his commitment to the APC, vowing to follow due process in all party activities to ensure a victory in the upcoming elections. He urged supporters to remain calm and focus on actions that would foster prosperity and peace within Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large. His message underscores a commitment to internal party harmony and democratic principles following a competitive primary process.
