Nasarawa gov wins APC senatorial ticket

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has successfully secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, marking a significant step towards his legislative ambitions for the 2027 general election. The primary election saw Governor Sule achieve a resounding victory, polling an impressive 47,393 votes against his sole challenger, Silas Ali Agara, who garnered 2,915 votes. This substantial margin of over 44,000 votes underscores the governor's strong standing within the party.

I, Musa Shuaibu Guri, Chairman of the Senatorial Primary Elections Committee, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the Nasarawa North senatorial primary election held on the 18th day of May 2026.

The election process, held in Akwanga, was officially certified as peaceful, credible, and transparent by the Returning Officer, Musa Guri. Guri's declaration confirmed that Governor Sule met all constitutional requirements and APC guidelines, officially naming him the party's candidate for the senatorial district.
