Nasdaq-Listed BTQ Finalizes Acquisition of French Quantum Firm QPerfect

BTQ Technologies, a global quantum security specialist listed on Nasdaq, announced the completion of its acquisition of the French quantum computing firm QPerfect. This strategic move follows an initial option exercise of approximately 30 million euros in November of the previous year, with the final acquisition of the remaining shares costing an additional 18.6 million euros (about 32.5 billion Korean won).

The integration of QPerfect significantly bolsters BTQ's capabilities, allowing it to offer comprehensive 'Quantum Ready' solutions that span both hardware and software. This enhanced capacity is expected to positively influence BTQ's recent strategic partnerships with prominent South Korean security and financial companies.

QPerfect, based at the French European Quantum Science Center (CESQ), possesses proprietary technology known as 'MIMIQ.' This quantum emulator is capable of performing simulations exceeding 100 qubits. MIMIQ's primary function is to test and verify quantum algorithms within a software environment before deploying them on actual quantum computer hardware, a crucial step in the development and application of quantum technologies.

This acquisition positions BTQ to leverage QPerfect's advanced simulation technology, potentially accelerating the development and deployment of quantum-resistant security solutions. The combined expertise is anticipated to drive innovation in the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing and cybersecurity.
