Natalie Portman gives birth to her third child, her first with music producer Tanguy Destable

Natalie Portman has become a mother for the third time, in the middle of attention surrounding Rachel Cusk’s new novel, Life of M, which reportedly portrays the actress without naming her. A source told People magazine that Portman gave birth in Paris in August.

The sex of the baby and the exact date of the birth remain undisclosed. It is Portman’s first child with her current partner, music producer Tanguy Destable, who works under the name Tepr. Portman announced the pregnancy in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, saying she felt “very grateful” and that pregnancy was “a privilege and a miracle.”

The birth comes after Portman’s divorce from choreographer Benjamin Millepied, the father of her two older children, was confirmed in March 2024. The couple met while making Black Swan, where Millepied worked as choreographer. Portman’s relationship with Destable became public through the French press more than a year ago, but the two have kept it private. They have not appeared together officially on a red carpet or shared joint images on their social media accounts.

Portman documented parts of the pregnancy on Instagram, including a visit to Disneyland Paris and photographs showing her growing belly. In her final post mentioned in the article, she wrote beside a heart, “Counting the days to meet you.” She also said the new baby would “probably” be her last, describing a sense of calm and self-knowledge that made the experience beautiful day after day.
